Leicestershire and Rutland Land Rover Club

The roots of the Leicestershire and Rutland Land Rover Club originate back in the late 1970’s, this Club is a single marque Club i.e. that of Land Rover.

Leicestershire and Rutland Land Rover Club, has evolved from strength to strength to its present form. The Club meeting night was originally held in Tilton on the Hill (hence the magazine name) on the first Tuesday of each month. Club nights continue to be held but now on the first Wednesday of each month. The Club welcomes all members old and new to socialise, receive trophies, and hold quizzes, raffles and other presentations. The committee meet at the same venue every month to review previous activities and plan forthcoming events.

Various competitive events are held by the Club throughout the year for which winners receive trophies and points, which are allocated towards Annual Championships. The winners are rewarded with the presentation of engraved shields at our Annual Dinner.

Other activities organised by the Club to include the family comprise; off road promotional days, bike trials, gymkhanas, BBQ’s, caravan / camping weekends, treasure hunts and training events. Club members also go green laning in small groups using maps that are researched and marked up by our Rights of Way representative, information for which is accessed from County Councils to try to ensure that we only use legal Rights of Way.

A monthly newsletter is produced entitled “Tilting on the Hill” to keep members informed of all activities
